A LETTER TO MR. VINCENT VAN GOGH

Hello Sir. The flowers you left are still yellow. You must be having a mighty fine time in Paris. French cuisine, wine and the ladies, one can try and try hard but never get bored there. Why do all artists go there, I used to wonder? Of course, until you go to Italy and get hovered by artists. Some struggling artists, some not. No pun intended! Sir had you asked me I would have recommended Italy to you. I-T-A-L-I-A, a place so culturally rich and a paradise for artists like yourself. In all seriousness, all sorts of artists are found there. Fashion artists and canvas artists, some serenading artists. You name it. I have been told Italians are romantically inclined. You might have found someone special there. I myself am an amateur artist, guess who is my master. The mention of your name brings some inexplicable behaviour in some people. But do not worry. No one talks about your ear now. I tell them tales of the great companionship you had, the impressionistic paintings that you created using all the hues of the world for your muse. Starry night comes and goes, you, however stay in ART.

Consider myself to be an amateur and self-taught artist. Words come by very fast at times and sometimes the train stops short. Since life is a journey and myself a traveller, I don't mind adventures.
